Polarity ManagementTM Workshops

We provide four levels of workshop, each of which has a solid platform from which to do custom designing with the client:

  1. Awareness

Executive Summaries (4 hours)

This session introduces the basics of Polarity Management. Participants get an overview awareness of how polarities look and work. Application stories are shared and participants explore how Polarity Management might be useful in addressing some issues they identify before or during the training.

  2. Understanding

One Day Workshop (8 hours)

This course provides a solid understanding of key elements of Polarity Management.
Purpose: To enhance your personal life and leadership performance.

Objectives:

  • Improve your effectiveness in addressing the 5 "Cs":
    • Complexity - Seeing The Forest and The Trees
    • Change - Convert resistance to change into a resource for Stability and Change.
    • Conflict - Create "Win/Win" outcomes.
    • Chronic Issues - Convert chronic issues into sustainable strength.
    • Cross Cultural Issues - Celebrate and capitalize on differences.

  • By Learning:
    • The value of either/or thinking
    • The value of both/and thinking
    • To distinguish between problems to solve and polarities to manage
    • How all polarities look and work
    • The four action steps for managing polarities well over time

  • So that at the end of the workshop you will have made progress in three areas:
    • A self-identified personal, leadership development issue.
    • At least one important organizational issue you are addressing
        at the moment.
    • Your ability to apply Polarity Management in your personal and
        professional life.
Contact Polarity Management if your group would like to hold a One Day workshop.

  3. Skill Development

Real Progress on Issues
(1 day of training, 6 to 8 weeks application, 2nd day of training)

This course takes the participants beyond basic understanding and into application skills and project completion. In addition to the objectives of the One-Day Understanding course, the period between the two training days is used as an intentional application and learning time. Participants continue to work on the projects they started on the first day and return with questions and insights to share on day two.

The benefit to the organization increases because there is a clear intent and opportunity to add value to the organization on important issues while learning to apply Polarity Management.

This course is designed to develop internal and external resources skilled in teaching and helping others address critical organizational issues through Polarity Management. Unlike a typical train-the-trainer model which is often based on rigid content and design, the Consultant Development Intensive grounds participants in the principles of Polarity Management so they can be responsive in applying it to issues as they emerge in their organization. The degree to which the course is consultation focused or training focused is decided in collaboration with the client organization and/or the external consultants involved. This course allows participants time to do more experiential learning and recognize their own strengths and limitations as a consultant/trainer in Polarity Management.

It is possible for external consultants to come to the course with internal resources from one of their clients. It is a way to develop skills, develop internal resources and make progress on significant client issues all in one process. If you would like to explore this opportunity more over the phone, you can arrange for a phone meeting by calling our office at 616-233-3291.
